The system of state registration of titles to real state was introduced in Kazakhstan in 1997 - from the moment of registering authority establishment. The Reform was adopted by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan On State Registration of Titles to Real Estate dated July 26, 2007. Today, the Administration of the Automated Information System of the State Land Cadaster (AIS of SLC) and technical inspection is a structural subdivision of the Department of Land Cadaster of Public Limited corporation “Government for Citizens”. This Center was established for the purpose of introduction, maintenance, collection, classification and record of database of the state land cadaster.

The AIS of SLC employs 515 individuals in the administration, regional branches, and district departments.

Kazakhstan joined the Hague Convention on simplified legalization of documents on April 5, 2000.
