Scope
This policy applies to all employees of Schmidt & Schmidt, regardless of their position or location, as well as to contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders engaged with our operations.
Why speak up?

When to speak up
Employees and associates should report, among others:
- Suspected fraud, corruption, or illegal behavior.
- Any breach of Schmidt & Schmidt’s Code of Ethics or other internal policies.
- Actions that pose dangers to health, safety, or the environment.
- Discrimination, harassment, or any other behavior that compromises an inclusive and respectful workplace.
How to raise a concern
- Direct to Manager: Employees are encouraged to address their concerns directly with their immediate supervisor as the first course of action.
- Human Resources: If the concern involves a manager or if the employee is uncomfortable speaking to their manager, Human Resources is available for reporting issues.

Investigation process
All concerns will be received and handled with sensitivity and discretion. The Human Resources department will ensure that investigations are conducted impartially and professionally. Employees who raise concerns will receive a follow-up on their report within two weeks of the initial reporting.
Protection against retaliation
Schmidt & Schmidt does not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who report concerns in good faith. Protective measures will be enacted to safeguard those who speak up from any harassment, intimidation, or discrimination.
Confidentiality
We maintain confidentiality to the fullest extent possible. Information will only be disclosed on a need-to-know basis and will comply with all applicable laws concerning the protection of the identity of individuals who report concerns.
Training and communication
Schmidt & Schmidt will provide training to all employees on how to recognize and report issues safely and responsibly. This policy will be available on Schmidt & Schmidt’s intranet and discussed in onboarding sessions for new employees.
Policy review
This policy will be reviewed biennially or whenever necessary to ensure it meets legal standards and aligns with our company's values.
Enforcement
Non-compliance with this policy may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. It is crucial for all employees to follow the guidelines set out in this policy to maintain a harmonious and productive working environment.
